As many of you know, as of May of 2016, I entered a new journey in life as a SAHM (stay at home mom). This has been interesting for me, and is something that I wouldn’t trade for the world, but it has definitely stressed me out financially. Don’t get me wrong, our bills are paid, but it sucks when you’re cutting a lot of corners to do so, and when you have to tell your kids sorry, we can’t afford to do xyz at the moment. So, this brings me to my goal: To make money as a SAHM. Rather, I’d like to make at least the income that I had at my job as a paraprofessional as a SAHM. That wasn’t a lot. To be honest, after taxes, I was lucky to bring in $700/month, but I was happy, and didn’t have to pay childcare, so it was fine as far as I was concerned.

Now, what’s my plan to make money as a SAHM?
Well, this blog is part of it. From time to time, you will see what’s called affiliate links. This means that I will make money if you happen to purchase a product that I recommend on the blog. This will not make money pour down like rain in my house (I really wish it would!), it just means that I might make $.50 here and there.
I will also still have my Cafepress store and will be uploading new designs as much as possible, so you can purchase from there… Again, not a lot of money is made off of that, but there is a small trickle affect off of it.
Many of you know that I also have a side business making signs and shirts, this is where I hope to make the bulk of my money as a SAHM. I don’t intend to work nonstop, but this is something that I really enjoy doing, so I plan to make it actually make me a little bit of money.
Aside from all of that, I will also be exploring how much money can be made from selling things around our house that we no longer use… I.e. gently used kids clothes and more.
To hold myself accountable, and to keep a check on how much I’m actually making, I will be posting here once a month with a breakdown of exactly how much I made and how I made it.
Are you a SAHM? How do you make extra pocket money? I’d love to hear from you!
